Auckland tropical animal park Butterfly Creek has welcomed four new tamarin monkeys.
Ay, Merida, Chaska and Miracle made the short trip up the motorway from Franklin Zoo, which recently closed its doors due to the tragic death of Helen Schofield, the zoo’s highly dedicated owner and curator, on Valentine's Day.
Staff at Butterfly Creek expect the new arrivals to settle in quickly with the giant saltwater crocodiles, the butterflies, the tarantulas and the collection of reptiles and creepy crawlies on site.
