More than 1000 Christchurch home owners want to have their properties re-zoned as condemned.
The Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Authority (Cera) received 1065 requests to have their properties rezoned from green, which means safe to live in, to red, or unsafe to inhabit.
There are 144 wanting their properties to be changed from red zone to green, while about 150 have not been fully processed.
People seeking a review of technical land category were not included in the final numbers as it is not covered by the review process.
An advisory group made up of three Cera officials with experience in public policy, law and geotechnical engineering will assess the applications for review, along with independent member Dr Keith Turner.
Among the issues they will consider are the consistency of the original zoning with cabinet classifications and boundary anomalies.
Earthquake Recovery Minister Gerry Brownlee will report back to cabinet by July 30 and applicants are expected to be notified in August about possible zoning changes.
