A New Zealand man has been accused of feeding five live kittens to his red nose pit-bull terrier.
He is also accused of recording a video of the incident on his phone.
The man is due to appear in Gisborne District Court next week.
He faces five charges of wilful ill-treatment of an animal.
The man was charged after the national office of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) became involved when they received a report of the incident late last year.
