Australian man puts camera in KFC toilets

A KFC employee who placed a mobile phone camera in the restaurant's women's toilets told an Australian court he was concerned about people using drugs in the cubicles.

Phillip Alan Rex Taylor, 22, placed the phone in an air vent pointing down into a cubicle of a KFC restaurant, the Queensland Times reported.

The camera had only been running for a short amount of time before two customers spotted the phone and told the manager.

Taylor was revealed as the culprit after the manager worked his way down a list of employees' phone numbers, linking the mobile phone to him.

Crown Prosecutor Kellie Jones told Ipswich District Court that Taylor had admitted to police that he put the phone in the vent while he was cleaning the toilets, but said it was because he was concerned about people using drugs in the cubicles.

Taylor was given six months probation after a guilty plea.

He lost his job after the incident, which took place in June last year.
