A US man has been charged with raping his girlfriend and carving the word "mine" into her stomach with a box cutter.
Keith Alan Campbell, 41, was arrested at his home in Hickory, North Carolina, and faces charges including kidnapping, rape and assault over the incident on Friday.
The victim, who has not been identified, allegedly told police Campbell was her boyfriend and that he had been drinking heavily on the day of the attack, NewsChannel 36 reports.
She reportedly said the couple got into an argument around 11.30pm, leading Campbell to bind her hands and rape her.
According to an arrest warrant, Campbell is accused of "grabbing the victim out of the chair she was sitting in, pushing on a kitchen counter, striking in the face with his fist".
He allegedly told her: "You're mine. You're not going anywhere. I'll kill you before you go back … I own you."
Police believe Campbell then used a box cutter to cut the word "mine" into her stomach.
The victim reportedly waited until Campbell passed out before fleeing the house and driving herself to hospital.
Campbell is being held without bail awaiting a court hearing.
