A New Zealand man has been run over twice by his wife, who was driving the couple's four-wheel drive.
The wife, Sandy Telford, ran over her 69-year-old husband Terry as she reversed down their driveway near Opoutama yesterday, according to The Dominion Post.
Unaware that she had mowed down her husband, Mrs Telford then drove forward, running him over again.
Mr Telford was hospitalised with head, chest and back injuries.
Senior Sergeant Tony Bates of Wairoa police said the impact may have been reduced by the thickly gravelled driveway.
He said Mrs Telford was "distraught" and police were treating the incident as an accident.
Mr Telford is reportedly in a stable condition at Hawke's Bay Hospital in Hastings.
