A 74-year-old New Zealand woman who blew a raspberry at a local mayor has been issued a trespass notice which bans her from the shopping centre where the incident occurred.
Shirley Squire blew a raspberry at North Shore Mayor Andrew Williams after calling him a "cowardly careerist" following his singing performance during Chinese New Year celebrations at the Northcote Shopping Centre.
A few days later police issued Ms Squire a trespass notice which prohibits her from entering the shopping centre and its surrounds.
Ms Squire told The Aucklander it was "beyond persecution" and "positively sadistic".
Ms Squire wants the trespass notice lifted and has said she waited until Mr Williams was off the stage before blowing the raspberry because she "didn't want to insult the Korean singers".
