The death of a 23-year-old man at a Wellington cinema on Sunday was unexplained but not suspicious, according to police.
The body of the 23-year-old was found by a cleaner at Reading Cinema on Courtenay Place shortly before 8.30pm Sunday evening following a screening of The Twilight Saga: Eclipse.
A security guard who found the man thought he was "asleep" after seeing him still on his seat after everyone else had left, he told reporters.
Ambulance and fire officers attended the scene but were unable to resuscitate him.
The man reportedly fronted up alone to attend the 6pm session.
Police have said they aren't treating the death as suspicious.
A post-mortem examination is being conducted today.
The man has been informally identified and police are trying to contact his next of kin.
