A wedding had to be called off in Sweden after the groom-to-be threatened to kill his future wife on the night before the ceremony.
The couple, from Vintrosa in central Sweden, had been drinking at a local pub when they got into an argument, local newspaper Nerikes Allehanda reports.
The fight continued at their home and escalated when the 33-year-old husband-to-be hit his fiancée and threatened to kill her.
Twelve hours before the wedding was due to take place, the woman called police to report her partner for assault.
"It's the first time we've searched somebody and found two wedding rings in their pocket," the newspaper quoted police sergeant Anders Wallin as saying.
The man was issued with a temporary detention order and released from police custody a few hours after the wedding was scheduled to take place.
