Sarah Palin's grip on matters of foreign policy has again come under scrutiny after she confused North and South Korea in a radio interview.
Palin was speaking with Fox News presenter Glenn Beck on his radio show when she made the mistake, saying "Obviously, we've got to stand with our North Korean allies. We're bound to by treaty... "
Beck had previously asked her how she would handle the diplomatic situation since the deadly bombing by North Korea of a South Korean island.
The host corrected Palin after her slip of the tongue before she continued, "And we're also bound by prudence to stand with our South Korean allies, yes."
The former Governor of Alaska and former vice-presidential candidate is currently the subject of speculation about whether she will run for the US presidency in 2012.
Palin's comprehension of foreign affairs had come under fire in her vice-presidential campaign, which gave rise to the infamous line in comedian Tina Fey's impersonation of Palin: "I can see Russia from my house."
