Weatherston to appeal murder conviction

Clayton Weatherston is appealing his conviction for the murder of Sophie Elliott.

The former Otago University tutor was found guilty in July of murdering Elliott, 22.

He was given a life sentence with a minimum non-parole period of 18 years last month. Elliott was stabbed over 200 times.
