New Zealand marks the 30th anniversary of the Erebus crash on Saturday.
On November 28, 1979, Air New Zealand sight-seeing flight 901 crashed into Mt Erebus on Ross Island, Antarctica, instantly killing all 257 people on board.
Last month, Air New Zealand CEO Rob Fyfe apologised to relatives of the victims for the "failings that occurred in the days, months and years after November 28, 1979" at the unveiling of a sculpture outside the company's head office in Auckland.
Six family members have been chosen to visit the crash site and attend a memorial service at Scott Base this year.
