A US architect has set a new Guinness World Record by spending a marathon 44 days building the largest-ever house of cards.

Bryan Berg used a total of 218,792 cards from 4051 decks to create his impressive replica of the Venetian Macau casino — which is fittingly being featured in the gaming palace itself.

The architect, who already held the previous record, said he drew inspiration for the feat from his card-loving grandfather.

"It's really like a real construction project because you have to engineer every single adjacency and every support that's supporting everything above," he said.
