The first face transplant recipient in the US has told of how thrilled she is that her life is getting back to normal.
Connie Culp has undergone about 30 procedures to reconfigure her face since she was shot twice by her husband in 2004.
In an appearance on US TV, the 47-year-old mother said she could now walk down the street without attracting attention.
"[I'm] just another person on the street. I never dreamed I'd have a nose or a mouth. I mean, I had nothing. I had a hole in my face, you know?"
