Residents spent another night enduring aftershocks following Saturday's powerful 7.1 magnitude quake.

But businesses in central Christchurch continue to reopen to the public.

A website has been set up to help Canterbury residents access services and keep informed in the aftermath of Saturdays major quake. Hawkes Bay and the Wairarapa were hit by two earthquakes Tuesday morning but there have been no reports of damage.

The quakes measured 5.2 and 3.6 on the Richter scale, and have been widely felt throughout the area.
