Residents of quake-devastated parts of Christchurch face weeks, possibly months, of using portaloos and chemical toilets.
But some real Kiwi ingenuity has been shown with custom-built long drops set up in residents' backyards.

ShowUsYourLongDrop.co.nz has been created by Jason Moore, from Kainga in Christchurch, to showcase the best long drops in the city.
People can
upload their masterpieces and vote on who’s got the most designer dunny in the neighbourhood..
The 31-year-old website designer said he was "feeling a bit guilty" that their house was fine and "wanted to help out by putting some smiles on people's faces".
The website has been a hit and already went down from too much traffic to the site last night and this morning.
