Flooding and wild weather have hit Queensland over the Australia Day holiday.
Many events were cancelled in Darwin and Brisbane as heavy rains caused flash floods.
Floods also struck in NSW where many residents were forced to evacuate.
On a day when people usually enjoy a barbecue in the sunshine, photos show many were faced with flooded roads and sports fields instead.
Leonie Piercy took this photo of flooding at Hope Island in Queensland.
