Yesterday was a day of firsts that John Holtman won’t soon forget.

At 6.30pm last night the 64-year-old was treated to his first ever waterspout display on his first day at his new home in Stockton Bay, north of New South Wales’ Central Coast.

The images, captured from his balcony, show the tornado-like spout dancing above the water until it crosses the bay and touches land.

"It went for a good 15 minutes and it was amazing to watch," Mr Holtman told MSN NZ.
