The Ports of Auckland Round the Bays drew a 70,000 strong crowd this year. The run kicks-off along Auckland's waterfront and is a gruelling 8.4km to the finish line St Heliers Bay. Although 70,000 people turned up to walk, wheel, run and cycle the route, only 42,000 were officially registered. The event is New Zealand's largest fun run and all proceeds go to Make-A-Wish New Zealand, Child Cancer Foundation, Garden to Table Trust, Fairfax First Books and Kidz First Childrens Hospital.
