The Auckland SPCA has been overrun with pets looking for a home.
Cats, dogs and rabbits will be available for half-price over the Easter weekend.
There are 482 cats, 122 dogs, and 39 rabbits in the society's over-flowing Mangere-based Auckland Animal Village.
About half the cats - 240 of them - are in foster care. The half-price sale runs until April 22.
"Our absolute dream would be to have an empty village," SPCA chief excutive Christine Kalin says.
