The NZ Defence Force is taking part in the world’s largest international maritime exercise, Exercise Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC 2012), around Hawaii.
Held every two years, RIMPAC 2012 is a multi-national maritime exercise involving 22 countries and a total of 25,000 personnel. It began last month and runs until August 3.
It is the first time that New Zealand, a nuclear free nation, has been involved in the exercise, which has been hosted by the United States, for 28 years.
