A baby crocodile and python are just two of the unexpected discoveries police made when investigating a clandestine drug lab in a western Sydney home.

Drug Squad detectives found the 50cm-long baby croc and the carpet python during a search of a home in Londonderry at 9am (NZST) yesterday, police said.

The pair - along with two small turtles - were allegedly being kept in fish tanks in one of the home's bedrooms.
