For the past few weeks Sydneysiders have marvelled at whales travelling up the coast, but these photos show that life in the ocean is not just a postcard picture.
The carcass of a 10m-long whale washed up into a Newport Beach ocean pool yesterday.
A high tide swept it out late last night before the dead humpback whale came to rest on the beach.
Six chainsaw teams have spent the morning cutting up the whale so it can be removed and taken to the tip.
