China takes out Miss World pageant

An aspiring music teacher from China claimed the 2012 Miss World title.

China's Yu Wenxia was crowned 2012 Miss World on home soil after appearing on stage in a dazzling array of ballgowns during the two-hour final and serenading the audience with a piercing rendition of a popular Chinese song.

"When I was young I felt very lucky because so many people helped me, and I hope in the future I can help more children to feel lucky," the 23-year-old told judges.
