Animal wardens were forced to tranquilise a wild black bear found wandering through a residential neighbourhood in California today (Sunday, Pacific Time Zone).
The bear led police and wildlife officials on a chase for several hours as he made his way through the streets of La Crescenta and Montrose in Los Angeles County.
It climbed and then knocked over a yard fence as it meandered through its early morning stroll, stopping to sit at a nail salon for a while, then resting in front of Crescenta Valley High School.
LA Sheriff Department deputies followed the bear overhead in a helicopter until California Department Fish and Game wardens were able to get on scene and corral the bear.
