Prince William: I want an heir and a spare

William and Kate recently revealed they wanted to start a family "soon", and now they have let slip how many children they are planning to have.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, who are both 30, were chatting to schoolchildren in Singapore when a little boy asked William how many babies he wanted.

Without hesitation, William replied: "Two".

His speedy answer is likely to fuel speculation Kate is already pregnant. On the first night of their nine-day tour of Asia and the South Pacific, the Duchess refused wine and champagne, drinking only water.
