Workers in the Philippines have buried a huge whale carcass that was found floating off the coast.

A harness was used to lift the 16m-long sperm whale to shore, after it was found yesterday near Sacol Island, off the coast of Zamboanga City in the Phiilippines.

Environmental officials believe the whale was pregnant but had died of natural causes.

There are also whale graves in Australia but these photos show the difficult burial process in a way rarely seen in public.
