On the eve of St Anthony's Day, hundreds rode their horses through the narrow cobblestone streets of the small village of San Bartolome in Spain.
They took part in what is known as the 'Luminarias': a traditional festival that dates back 500 years and which is meant to purify the animals with the smoke of the bonfires.
It is believed to protect them for the year to come. St Anthony is one of the patron saints of animals.
