Patricia Busch's lawyer says she's imprisoned" inside Zion Wildlife Gardens and he's being prevented from seeing her.
Speaking from outside the park's entrance, Evgeny Orlov told NZ Newswire the new owners of the troubled Northland centre are using "standover tactics" to intimidate Mrs Busch into leaving.
Mrs Busch's daughter Megan was arrested at the park on Tuesday and charged with trespassing.
Park receivers say the keys to the park have been handed over to new owners Zion Wildlife Kingdom Ltd.
Mrs Busch and Mr Orlov are planning legal action to block the sale.
But, says Mr Orlov, Mrs Busch is refusing to leave because her son Craig, known as the Lion Man, is helping the new owners run the park.
"She has duties to look after the animals and she's not allowed to have people come and help her with that," Mr Orlov told NZ Newswire.
"They're not letting her lawyer see her so in my view she is imprisoned."
Mr Orlov was stopped outside the entrance to the park and says police told him to leave about 1pm Wednesday.
He is refusing to leave until he is able to speak to his client.
"I'm worried about her. I'm worried about her health. I have a right to see my client but they won't let me in. They're committing an illegal act."
He says Mrs Busch is still the legal owner of the park.
Mrs Busch took over ownership of the park in 2006 from her son. The two have been locked in a feud since he was dismissed in 2008.
The wildlife park was placed into liquidation in August after a court ruled that it could not pay its debts.
A spokeswoman for Whangarei police was not immediately available for comment.
