NZ to give $1m to Diamond Jubilee

New Zealand will contribute $1 million to the Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee Trust, Prime Minister John Key has announced.

The trust has been endorsed by all Commonwealth nations and the money it raises will be used to enrich member states, socially and culturally.

Mr Key says he's confident the money will be properly used because it will be under Commonwealth control.

Australia is giving the fund $5m
