Mining at Spring Creek Mine on the West Coast has been cleared to resume after a prohibition notice halting production was lifted by the Department of Labour.
Acting mines chief inspector Gavin Taylor says Solid Energy had provided the department's high hazards unit the information that it needed.
"We are confident that the company has appropriately addressed the immediate concerns and is moving to address the potential risks that we had identified," Mr Taylor said in a statement.
The mine had been issued with a prohibition notice on Monday.
The notice was issued after the department was unhappy about the state-owned company's management of three incidents in the past two weeks.
Mr Taylor sought information from Solid Energy to fully explain the incidents and put together a plan and definite timeline for addressing the safety failures.
The three incidents were:
* a diesel generator catching fire, injecting high concentrations of carbon monoxide into the mine;
* one of the two main fans tripping with no alert to management for 90 minutes;
* an underground auxiliary fan tripping on two consecutive days, without stopping the machine as it should have.
Mr Taylor says that in the next month a team from his unit would carry out a safety audit on the mine and check that proposed changes had been implemented.
Mine safety has become a major issue after 29 men were killed in explosions in the Pike River mine in November 2010.
