Australian Governor-General Quentin Bryce will visit New Zealand from Sunday.
Ms Bryce will be accompanied by her husband Michael on the five-day visit, with engagements in Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch and Queenstown.
Prime Minister John Key will meet them next Tuesday when they attend a state dinner at Government House in Wellington.
"The New Zealand/Australia relationship has never been stronger and that was reaffirmed with the warm welcome we received when I visited Melbourne with seven cabinet ministers last month," Mr Key said on Friday.
Ms Bryce arrives in Auckland and returns to Canberra on March 1.
