A man has been charged after a toddler was hit and killed by a van while playing in a car park in south Auckland.
Three-year-old David Taliai was playing outside a block of shops in Dalgety Drive, in Manurewa, on January 24 when he was hit by a van and dragged underneath it.
The boy died at the scene.
The driver of the van has been charged with careless driving causing death.
He had been spoken to by police, along with a number of witnesses, on the day of the incident.
He is expected to appear in Manukau District Court on April 27.
