A couple who locked their five children - including a five-month-old - in a van at a SkyCity casino carpark for 45 minutes while they gambled have admitted charges in court.
The 39-year-old man and 29-year-old woman each admitted one charge of leaving a child under the age of 14 without supervision when they appeared in Auckland District Court on Friday, APNZ reports.
Their names remain suppressed and they will next appear for a pre-sentence hearing in September.
The children, aged between five months and eight years old, were freed by security staff and police during the incident in February.
The children were subsequently placed in Child, Youth and Family care.
SkyCity said at the time there had been seven cases in the previous year of children being left in cars in SkyCity's Auckland car parks.
