A man is recovering after being stabbed in the shoulder during a street brawl in which people used bats and knives in Taumarunui on Saturday.
The man was allegedly stabbed during the fight which broke out on Taupo Rd about 1.30pm, a Police central communications spokesman told NZ Newswire.
The spokesman said bats and knives were reportedly used in the fight.
Radio New Zealand reported that the injured man was aged 19 and had been flown to Waikato Hospital with a boning knife still in him.
