A second body found floating in water in the UK within two months has been linked to New Zealand, because of the national silver fern emblem.
One man, wearing a watch with a fern design on its face, was found floating under a Welsh waterfall on May 23.
Another, with a New Zealand fern motif on his wallet, was found washed ashore on a Scottish island last Friday.
Police in Scotland said they were trying to identify the man found dead in the water by the Isle of Lismore.
He had a train ticket issued on June 26 from Morar to Fort William and Chief Inspector Brian Auld of Oban police said it was possible he was a tourist.
Insp Auld appealed to proprietors of local B & Bs, hostels and hotels for help.
A Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade spokeswoman told NZ Newswire on Thursday that the New Zealand High Commission in London was liaising with police in Scotland as they continued inquiries to identify the man.
The body wearing the watch, found at Rhiwagor Waterfalls, was identified in June, following inquiries with police in Britain, Europe and the southern hemisphere.
Welsh police said he'd been living in Powys but wouldn't name him as they were still trying to find his next of kin.
He's not believed to be a New Zealander.
