Former New Zealand prime minister Helen Clark has been ranked 34th in the latest list of the world's most powerful women, compiled by Forbes magazine.
Ms Clark, who heads the United Nations Development Programme, is ranked ahead of author J K Rowling (78), Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour (51) and actress Angelina Jolie (66).
Ms Clark is also ranked one place ahead of Australian mining magnate Gina Rinehart.
At the top of the list is German chancellor Angela Merkel, followed by US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
Meanwhile, pop star Beyonce Knowles is ranked 32nd, while the youngest woman on the list, 26-year-old Lady Gaga, is 14th.
Ms Clark was ranked 50th on the list in 2011.
