More than three weeks after a fatal gang-related shooting in west Auckland, police are appealing for anyone who may have seen a man running away.
Daniel Fifita, 29, was shot in the chest in Afton Place, Ranui on the night of December 18 and later died in hospital.
Another man was shot in the leg.
On Wednesday, Detective Inspector Bruce Scott said the shooting may involve local members of the King Cobra gang.
They were keen to hear from anyone who may have seen a man, described as having heavily tattooed hands and forearms, running from the scene.
Twenty staff were working on the case, Det Insp Scott said.
