A man has admitted assaulting a police officer in a Northland town on Christmas Day, but two others allegedly involved have yet to make pleas.
Stewart Tahere, 27, admitted a charge of assault and of escaping lawful custody when he appeared in Dargaville District Court on Thursday.
He will be sentenced in the same court on April 24.
Two other Dargaville people arrested, Alissa Gooding, 25, and Joshua Pilisi-Mohetaue, 28, will reappear at a post-committal conference on February 28.
Both are charged with injuring with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, while Gooding is also charged with assaulting police with a weapon and damage to police property.
They were arrested after two police officers were allegedly assaulted at a party in Dargaville on Christmas Day.
