A council is reviewing security camera footage as part of its investigation into the freak death of a New Zealand lawyer on a London street.
Jacob Marx, 27, died on January 28 after he was hit by a metal sign which fell from above a betting shop in Camden, north London.
Passers-by and emergency workers tried in vain to save him after the sign covering the length of a William Hill bookmakers in Camden Road became dislodged and struck him on his head.
He died in hospital.
A spokesman for Camden Council told NZ Newswire its investigation was currently gathering witness statements and reviewing CCTV footage.
It was working with the police and William Hill on the probe which was not expected to be completed for some months.
There had been claims the sign was loose and was blown off in high winds.
Once the investigation has been completed a date will be set for an inquest into Mr Marx's death.
Mr Marx went to the UK last September with his girlfriend.
He had been working for law firm Minter Ellison Rudd Watts and had been based in the company's Sydney office.
The betting shop closed for three weeks "as a mark of respect" after what it called a "tragic accident".
