A pet chihuahua is expected to make a full recovery after being resuscitated by California paramedics using equipment designed for children.
The tiny dog, named Mojo, was suffering smoke inhalation after being rescued unconscious from a burning East County motor home last Wednesday, Fox5 Sandiego reports.
"The owner escaped the fire unharmed, but during a primary search of the home, El Cajon firefighter-paramedic Brendan Saffer found the owner's dog, a Chihuahua, unconscious and near death," City of El Cajon spokeswoman Monica Zech said.
"Once outside, firefighter-paramedic Travis Timmins, utilizing a pediatric oxygen mask, gave the dog, 'Mojo', oxygen."
Timmins reportedly worked on the dog for 10 minutes before it began breathing normally.
Mojo was then taken to Broadway Animal Medical Center for treatment.
Mojo's owner escaped uninjured from the blaze which destroyed the $40,000 motor home.
