A prisoner picked the wrong door when he tried to escape police custody, with CCTV showing the man running straight into a packed US courtroom.
The inmate was in a holding cell after his hearing at a Kentucky courthouse on Monday when he tried to break free, WHAS11 reports.
When police tried to remove another prisoner from the same cell, the man charged the door and pushed past a deputy sheriff, before stumbling into the courtroom.
The inmate only got about 6m before being tackled by police.
The video shows lawyers and defendants trying to flee the court as police fought with the man and wrestled him to the ground.
Police have not released the man’s original charges, but said he would now be charged with attempted escape and assault.
