One in ten UK drivers have taken penalty points for someone else or lied to escape a speeding fine, according to a survey.
Just more than 10 per cent have also been involved in two or more road accidents, the poll by a car glass company found.
Based on responses from 2,000 people, the survey found that 28 per cent thought they drove fast, but 53 per cent classed themselves as "slow and steady", with 12 per cent admitting to being poor drivers.
Just under a quarter considered themselves at home under the bonnet, while 18 per cent liked cars with brash, loud colours.
The poll found that five per cent had thought about taking penalty points on
their licence for someone else or lying to escape a speeding fine but decided not to.
Autoglass managing director Matthew Mycock said: "The poll has revealed some fun findings, but also demonstrates the need for a strong reminder for UK motorists to be more focused and calm while driving.
