A nine-year-old English painter is on his way to becoming a millionaire after his latest collection of artwork sold at auction for more than $400,000.
Kieron Williamson, from Norfolk northeast of London, has been nicknamed "mini Monet" because of his striking impressionist landscapes, the Daily Mail reports.
It took just 15 minutes for buyers from across the globe to snap up 24 paintings from the young artist, including two that sold for £34,950 (NZ$68,142) each.
Auctioneers are now tipping another ten of his pictures to sell for $200,000 after they go on exhibition next Friday.
Kieron only started painting during a holiday to Devon and Cornwall in 2008. Previously he had coloured in dinosaurs his parents drew for him.
"His paintings are continuing to progress and improve - but he is still a normal boy," his mother Michelle said.
"He no longer gets up at 6am and knocks out a painting before school. He would rather watch TV and play about - but he still loves painting and does two or three a week."
His income has now allowed his family to move from a rented flat next to a petrol station to a home in a picturesque village.
Unable to spend the money himself until he turns 18, his parents have invested the money for him.
