Two hikers in the US filmed the terrifying moment the small plane they were travelling in suddenly plummeted and crashed into the wilderness.
One of the men is seen at the start of the video, posted online on August 4 by outdoors2stay, smiling at the camera as the plane takes off.
But shortly after take-off the aircraft suddenly drops and crashes into trees.
The person who posted the video online said the aircraft hit an air pocket that caused it to rapidly lose altitude.
They had been flying to a small mountain town in Idaho after a morning hike in an area called the Frank Church River of No Return Wilderness when the accident happened.
The video shows the plane falling to the ground before everything goes black.
The sound of moaning can be heard as the passengers pull themselves from the wreckage and check on each other's welfare.
In a later shot, the pilot is seen lying on the ground covered in blood while one of the men inspects his injuries.
The person who uploaded the video said it was amazing nobody was killed in the crash.
"The pilot will make a full recovery and the rest of us escaped with superficial injuries and feel very lucky to be alive," the person wrote.
The uploader does not say when the crash happened but KBOI2.com reports the National Transportation Safety Board has a record of a plane crash in the area on June 30.
The description in the report matches the description given by the person who uploaded the video.
