Pippa Middleton has been comforting her sister Kate in hospital as the pregnant Duchess of Cambridge continues to recover from acute morning sickness.

Pippa, 29, and younger brother James, 25, visited the duchess for just over an hour at the King Edward VII Hospital in central London today, the Daily Mail reports.

Their visit followed Prince William's earlier in the day.

The Duke of Cambridge spent five hours at his wife's bedside before leaving late in the afternoon, as it emerged prank callers from Australia's 2Day FM tricked a nurse into revealing details about Kate's condition.

Radio hosts Mel Greig and Michael Christian were given an update about the Duchess after impersonating the Queen and Prince of Wales.

"She's quite stable. She hasn't had any retching and she's been sleeping on and off," the nurse told the radio duo.

The duchess was admitted to the hospital in central London on Monday with severe morning sickness – and shortly afterwards revealed to the world that she is pregnant with her first child.

Yesterday the duchess' parents also visited their 30-year-old daughter, but were unseen as they used a rear entrance.
